# 10. Changing importance of University and College

We are living in a changing world…this generation will:

Earn less than their parents
Have multiple careers
Work in jobs not yet invented
Work alongside AI
Need to be life-long learners
Learn more at work than at school
Create their own jobs and employ others rather than expecting to be employed
Not be prepared by College for their careers
Potentially never have a full-time job

So these findings are not really a surprise.

"An alarming—yet illuminating—a new study conducted by Third Way, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank, concludes that college graduates only earn the equivalent salary of high school graduates. Contrary to popular opinion, which contends that the path to success is rooted in attaining a college education, the frightening findings indicate that half of U.S. colleges in 2018 churned out a majority of graduates that earned under $28,000 a year.  "
